I had a meeting yesterday that begins a series of meetings with some folks in the movie industry. I'm exploring the idea of turning In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day into a screenplay. I know I can't do it myself which honestly feels really good. It would take some serious divine intervention!
I think everybody ought to have a few life goals that are absolutely ridiculous. This is one of mine. I feel totally inexperienced and unqualified. But as an author-friend of mine said: we didn't write books before we wrote books either. Basically, I have a lot of intrinsic motivation and very little knowledge. But I feel like the story of Benaiah has Epic written all over it. I just need to network with the right people who can make that happen. Oh yah, $50 million in capital wouldn't hurt either.
I honestly don't know next steps. And I have no idea how this will turn out. In fact, I feel a little foolish blogging about it. But that's why I'm doing it. If you aren't willing to look foolish you're foolish.
Bottom line: I'm going to work on putting a treatment together. And see what happens from there.
