5 Reasons Why I Love Twitter

Just added twitter updates on the right sidebar. You can also follow me on Twitter.
In the words of Napoleon Dynamite's brother, Kip, I Love Technology. By the way, that has to rank as one of the greatest all-time love songs! I've only been on twitter one week, but I'm diggin it for several reasons. Here are five of them.
1) I feel like twitter helps me really keep in touch with people I don't see as much as I'd like to. It was cool to track Perry and Tony on their journeys this week.
2) It's odd, but I love the little details about people's lives. I feel like I'm learning people's personalities and idiosyncrasies by following them.
3) Last night, my friend Joe Dascenzo, posted a tweet about his son getting hit with a baseball. I was able to pray for him in real time. I also requested prayer during my recording session and God answered it!
4) I'm a mad blogger. I often post several times a day and that is me restraining myself. I've found that twitter helps me fill-in-the-gaps with 140 character posts.
5) Twitter bring down walls and makes us realize that we're all human. I think for pastors, it can have a wonderful humanizing effect.

Mark,
You are right, it is fun to hear all the little details of someone's life. I have been following you for only two days and I feel like we are friends.
I love being able to stock multiple people at once... I mean twitter is stinkin cool.
enjoying what I'm reading from you guys. I read a Fermi about Ebenezers Coffeehouse and have been wanting to get out to visit every since. It's cool how you guys are intentional about creating 3rd places for people to connect.
Hey Mark!
I just visited Ebenezer for the Saturday night service. I drove 1100 miles from Louisiana looking forward to hear you preach and I heard Dino Rizzo from my back yard!!! [G] Anyhow, it was great to experience what you're doing in DC. Wish I could have met you but I enjoyed the coffee and bought another copy of your book in the shop so NCC would get the profit instead of Amazon! [G] Keep up the good work - You inspire this little country preacher!
Blessings,
Nathan
Thanks Mark!! Noah.
Pastor Mark,
I still have not been able to quit drinking soda for the 40 day experimentt maybe I should try something else. So far I have only missed one day entering something into my blog. I also started to read Paster Bill from the biker's church blog on a daily basis. I now read your twitter. It is very much like when I do actually get to see you in person.
Nathan,
So disappointed we didn't get to meet :) Maybe next time around!
Mark
Hi Mark - good post on why you love Twitter. It has definitely become a lifeline of communication for people who are using it. I even blogged about how I was able to direct message the writer of a song that I was having a bit of trouble with to ask how SHE did the song when it was led - pretty amazing use of technology to break down barriers, like you said.
I didn't know that you were using Twitter for more than just linking your blog posts. I know that there were people who weren't following you because of that - but it seems like you've been using it for more than that for a few weeks now. I'll put you back in my follow list!
Agghhhh yes . . . goog 'ole community. We can't live without it! It helps us all pursue our faith when we are connected. It also helps to achieve personal goals when we are connected with others traveling in the same direction. Those of us fitness nuts couldn't achieve a high level of fitness without community!
