Bleed Evangelism

Nancy Beach kicked off the Arise Conference. Thoroughly enjoyed her session. She even quoted some guy named Mark Batterson. That was surreal. Wasn't sure if I should write down what I said.

One thing Nancy said challenged me: "If you cut us we bleed evangelism." That is what I love about Willowcreek. Their evangelistic temperature is white hot. Few churches are going after the unchurched or seeing people baptized like Willow.

To be perfectly honest, over the last several months, the Lord has really convicted me about my lack of urgency. Not sure how else to say it. It's pathetic. And it's not about sharing our faith out of guilt. It's about being so excited about who God is and what God has done that I can't not talk about it.

For what it's worth, here are my personal definitions of worship and evangelism. Worship is bragging about God to God. Evangelism is bragging about God to others. I think evangelism is a simple extension of worship. Let's not stop bragging about God when we walk out of church!

Can I share a dream? I've always dreamed of being part of a church that was experiencing the reality of Acts 2:47. It says people were added daily. Don't you want to be part of a church that is experiencing life changing transformation on a daily basis?

Mark - if you want to experience a true "book of Acts" church - i suggest you visit The Pentecostals of Alexandria (Pastor Anthony Mangun) in Alexandria, LA. www.thepentecostals.org

I love that verse in Acts. The image of people adding daily blows my mind. What a time that must have been.

Awesome quote about worship and evangelism.

Mark - Love your stuff.
While in the solitude of cutting grass(and sweating) I was thinking about your post.

And here's the revelation of a South Carolina redneck... to be a part of a church that is added to daily, we, the church, have to take the message to the world(daily) not wait for the world to come to our buildings and only present the Gospel to people in our environment, we have to take it to theirs.

Isn't that what they were doing?

Praying for you!
