Grand Canyon

Next month I'm speaking at Central Christian in Las Vegas. Taking Parker with me and we're going to spend a week in the Grand Canyon. Never been. Can't wait. But I've got to admit. It's a little overwhelming. Not sure where to go or what to do.

Definitely want to do some hiking, rafting and maybe a helicopter ride. We're leaning toward North Rim.

Any suggestions?

I have not done this my self but I heard is really cool. You take a 1800's train from Williams AZ to the Grand Canyon. I heard it is a lot of fun. Here is the website.

If they still offer, take the donkey ride down to the bottom of the canyon. It's hard, but the perserverance makes it all the more of an achievement. (and its nostalgic: Mary rode a donkey carrying Jesus/Jesus rode a donkey before being crucified for us!)

Pastor Mark,
If you get a chance, check out Lake Havasu Falls. The water is this amazing crystal blue water, and you may be able to find some spots to do some cliff jumping if you ask the locals

DEFINITELY do the North Rim. I grew up in AZ and the South Rim has become really crowded and hard to get in and out of. The North Rim is MUCH quieter and personally I think more beautiful. Enjoy!

Tough choices. Been to the South Rim-you can hike down and camp overnight and hike back next day-everyone who does it say it is a must do. Then again I want to go back and do a multiple day raft trip.

If you are going to be there for a week, you have got to get down to Havasupi Falls. One of the most beautiful places you'll ever see - and a great "Man" trip with your son.

I've done the train ride from Williams as well, and it's nice - nostolgic.
