Baptism Video

A couple weeks ago we had our Baptism by the Bay. We love doing baptisms in public places so we go out to Sandy Point State Park on the Chesapeake Bay. Baptism is such a sacred rite of passage that we do our best to capture the moment via photography and videography.

Here's our latest baptism video.

Props to Jeremy Sexton and our entire media department for pulling this off. And the song is written and sung by our own Steph Modder. Once you hear it you won't be able to get it out of your mind's ear! So perfect. So organic.

I just watched the Baptism Video -- Great job editing, great song. great display of God's love.
They say a picture is worth a 1000 words or something like that. The picture is that is standing out in my head is the number of times you, Mark Batterson, were grinning ear to ear. That tells me something. It tells me you love God and you love what you are doing. That is what I (and I am sure 10's of thousands of others) love about you.

I will never forget getting baptized down by the Bay. One of the best choices I've made in recent years was to rededicate my walk with God and make the conscious decision to get baptized again; grasping the full meaning this time around.

That phenomenon is called the phonological (or articulatory) loop. But, I'm sure you already knew!

Mark,
I don't even know you guys, but I couldn't help but cry (joy tears) seeing all of these people commit their lives. We'll all be together one day and it's good to see new brothers and sisters.

Thank you, Pastor Mark, for posting the Baptism by the Bay video on your blog. And thank you, Steph, for writing/singing "Hope's Got Me!" My oldest niece is named "Hope," and I must have listened to this brilliant baptismal song 100s of times at my computer Tuesday after it was posted. Thanks to you both!

Mark,
When you played the '07 Baptism video at WiBo, I cried. When I came home and watched it again on the web, I cried. I went back and watched '06 and I cried some more. So I was already primed for this one....and you did it again. This is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen! Thanks so much for sharing it with us!

Mark,

Don't know you all from Adam (except to read your blog) but watched this beautiful scene with tears. I was touched especially by the husband and wife (?) and also the family. What an awesome thing to see.

I subscribe to your blog because my daughter Holly is working at Ebenezer's this summer. She read In A Pit (my cousin gave it to her as a high school graduation gift - how awesome is that!), felt led to pursue working there, and the rest is history.

She told me she went to the baptism service and how awesome it was, so I just watched the video and was moved to tears. I felt the joy of each of the believer's who were taking this next step in their faith journey with the Lord. The song was so beautiful, too!

Holly has loved being there this summer, working with terrific women and men, serving the world on Capitol Hill, and experiencing NCC up close and personal. Tomorrow is her last day there. We are SO grateful for the blessing this summer has been, and will continue to be, in her life.

We know God will continue to bless you, Mark, and your family, your ministry, and the endeavors of the believer's of NCC.

Michele,

It's going to be tough to let Holly go! She's been such a blessing to NCC and Ebz!!!

You should be proud :)
