This weekend the Washington Post is launching a weekly column featuring weekly messages by area pastors. It's called This Week's Word. Pretty cool deal. Here's a link.
For what it's worth, it was seven years ago "to the weekend" that the Post did a front-page, Sunday-edition article on NCC that really put us on the map in the DC area. Grateful for good press! I really think it's the favor of God.

I am so glad we own and redirect theaterchurch.org. :)
Mark,
I'm actually in DC right now looking for places to live. I read the Washington Post today (at Ebenezers--great place, by the way) and saw the article! How cool! My parents and I went to church at Ebenezers tonight and heard a great word. Since I didn't get to see you this weekend, I'm still looking forward to meeting you in September! Hope you're enjoying NY!

Hi, I'm new.
Our church was in the media a ton a couple of months back when a guy murdered his whole family and then killed himself in our neighborhood... 5 tragic deaths, and we were the closest church. We have yet to see the long term results of being in the limelight (news, paper, etc) but I know our church really stepped up during that time and it was a glory to God.
During all the interviews and madness I learned that until I give the media what they want, I hold all the cards because they want something. I can literally lay down the law and make them roll over if I really want to. But the moment I give them what they want, ei the interview, I'm at their mercy and in the hands of God in terms of how they spin what I've given them.
Oops, I'm rambling. God bless...
This is totally off topic - but, while I wait for my copy of "Wild Goose Chase" - I started reading your other book - "ID: The True You"! (Noticed alot of similiarities within this book and "In a Pit" and "Wild Goose Chase"!). I assume you wrote this one before "In a Pit..."?
Kelly,
Yeah. Self-published it actually about 4 years ago. It was my "first stab" at writing and really laid the foundation for In a Pit and Wild Goose.
Mark
That's so cool, Mark. It's a great book - and, like my copy of "In a Pit with a Lion" - is marked up with all kinds of "notes to self"! :)
