Writing Reflections

The first reviews of Wild Goose Chase are starting to come out. Definitely want to say a huge thanks to the bloggers who are reviewing the book. Feel free to post a link in the comments.

For what it's worth, the book was written for a general audience. Ought to challenge just about anybody in any circumstances. But I think it'll really nail people who have lost the adventure of following Christ.

I really struggled with the "sophomore book." I think the influence that In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day had actually made it more difficult to write the sequel. But at the end of the day, I really feel like I wrote what God wanted me to write. And, as an author, that is all you can.

Really been encouraged by early reviews. Most people have told me they read the book in one sitting which I take as a huge compliment. It's one of my goals as a writer. I want to write in a way that is easy to read but then requires people to go back and reflect on what they read.

T-minus three days!

Mark - one sitting was easier said and done now that I am on east coast time and have slept 3 hours overnight. . . but reading it on the red-eye from Vegas will make it all the more memorable as I move forward in my adventure. Thanks for helping me understand why I wasn't chasing the Goose like I used too.

It was amazing. Thanks for the book. It's good to know that you care about the little guy. Also, it has been awesome to have been touched by your ministry through your podcasts and books.

Hey Mark,
I was like the 4th person to sign up for the book to review and I still have not received it by mail. Have I been missed my brother? Anyway, if I feel though the crack I understand. I read your first book and loved it. I will buy this one also if I don't get it in the mail.
Thanks,

Mark, I can't wait to get this book! I'm a youth pastor who desperately wants to be someone who cannot only effectively lead students to reach unchurched people, but who also effectively reaches people myself. You are an inspiration and I pray that I can truly be a dangerously effective person in this culture for the Kingdom. Thanks

P.S. If you or anyone else have reading suggestions for me to become effective in reaching, I'd love to hear about it!

Pastor Mark. My wife and I just read the first chapter from chasethegoose.com. It was definitely the right thing at the right time. We are in a transition right now and seeking God's will on what His next step in ministry is for our family. I felt like that you were speaking directly to me and I appreciate all the thought and prayer that you put into this book. I look forward to reading the book in it's entirety once it is released. Thank you.

Mark,

Thank you so much for the honor of being able to participate in your blog tour. "Wild Goose Chase" came at an incredible time. I just posted my review.

Two months ago I left a job at a mega church (after 13 years there) to pursue my dream of working in the medical field. After reading "In a Pit with a Lion" (about 20 times) - I finally found the guts to push past my fear and take the leap. I wish I had done this years ago! LOL

God provided a "dream job" for me - working not only for a Christian doctor - but, a doctor who has an incredible ministry to the people of our community. (He is a psychiatrist who specializes in children & adolescents - and their families). I still feel like I am dreaming! :)

Praying God's richest blessings on you and the ministry that God has entrusted to you!

Hey Mark. "Wild Goose Chase" is a superb follow up to "In a Pit." I'm honored to have been able to read an advanced copy. "Wild Goose Chase" really challenged me in a number of ways and I think it will for others as well. No doubt this book will make a big impact. I especially love the example of the "cage" you use in the book and the call to action the book contains. It's more than just great insight, it's loaded with tangible application and promptings that made me realize I need to step out more. It's like one giant verb. :)

Thanks for the opportunity to preview "Wild Goose Chase" and participate in the blog tour! It's an incredible read - ranking up there with "In a Pit..." as one of the most influential books I've EVER read. I'm on my second pass through it now, and - if it's like my copies of "In a Pit", "Wild Goose Chase" will be worn out, read over and over and passed around for years to come!

Thanks!
