Yawning Angels
Here is another book byte from Wild Goose Chase. Sharing a daily dose of Wild Goose until the book releases on August 19.
Here's a thought that fired across my synapses not long ago: Do angels yawn? I know it seems like an inane theological question, but I seriously wonder if angels have the capacity to get bored. More importantly, I wonder if some of us are living such safe lives that not only are we bored, but so are our guardian angels.

I love the changes being made to "life theology" by the emerging church. I grew up in a VERY traditional church environment where God, Life, Culture, People, all of it - is to be feared. But, my spirit has always yearned for something more. I think this byte catches the philosophy of living large and following hard after our created purposes. I am really excited about the book.
No, I don't think our angels get bored. But when _I_ get bored, I should think my angel is appalled! "Are you nuts?" he's saying. "Do you have any idea what you're missing? Are you _completely_ blind to the glory around you and in you and over you?"
And then, of course, he's learning, as Corinthians suggests - "We are a spectacle for the angels."
