Can I share a win?
My publisher tracks bestseller lists for a number of publications. Just found out that Wild Goose Chase hit #5 on the Washington Post Bestseller list for nonfiction paperback. It's not the New York Times, but I'll take it. And it's cool to know that the book is doing well in my local market.
We have a core value at NCC: work like it depends on you and pray like it depends on God. I feel like we've done that with Wild Goose Chase. We did a lot of groundwork in preparation. And lots of people were praying.
By the way, #6 this week was The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama. Gotta love that. Granted, his book has been on the list for 36 weeks!

Wow, this book just came to me via the Catalyst conference I bought tickets for in October. There is a part of the book in the beginning where Mark says that he prayed that the book would hit the hands of people at the exact moment they needed it...well God answers prayer. I needed this book. I have been an associate pastor going on 12 years and had begun to feel God stirring my spirit to want more to dream big and to be ready for change...I still don't know what that means but I am ready for the adventure...this book was a God send for me...thanks Mark!

Earlier this week I was given a copy of your book by a pastor- a complete God thing (another story). I have been agonizing for several years about a decision and a call that I feel God has put before me to minister to youth and young adults (currently I minister to children). A few months ago during a conference God spoke to me and said "What about those who will never step foot into the walls of a church building." The thing I feel God asking me to do is open a youth coffee house. I have to admit that when I began reading the book, I had no idea your church opened a coffehouse. As I read the part about assumptions I felt God tugging at my heart. Imagine my shock when I read the portion about opening a coffehouse. Needless to say, I was floored. All of the excuses I am using to talk myself out of this call where right there in front of me. They say God does not speak in an audible voice- but He does, He spoke through you. Thanks so much for the clarity I feel now after reading this most excellent and honest book.
