The Door

On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther posted 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church. That act of conviction and courage sparked the Protestant Reformation.

Here are a few shots of the door.

Thanks for the pictures!

One of my life goals is to take my dad to "the door." We have done some family research and have traced our family back to 1542 based on church baptismal records. In 1542 Hans Joseph Schabberlin (our name has evolved to Scheperle) was baptized as a Lutheran baby by his parents. Thus, I have ancestors who were among the first Lutherans. I was raised Lutheran but have continued in the reformation progress by becoming a Sprit Filled Christian.

I am thrilled with the idea of further reformation of the church. I believe that the final function of the reformation will be to not only clean up doctrine and practice, but to unify Christians that have seemingly made splitting and condemning wrong doctrine a badge of spirituality.

I went to Germany in 2001 but did not get to go to "the door." I am praying for God's provision for this life goal.
