We decided to post our webcast a little early this week. We tried to tackle the political elephant this weekend. I think this might be a good watch before the election on Tuesday.
For those outside the beltway, sure would appreciate your prayers for those of us inside the beltway. We've got a lot of people at NCC with their jobs on the line on November 4.

Thank you! Now I can listen to it on my drive back to DC.
Nice message. Thanks. I set it to all of my family.
May God bless America,
John
You are right in the thick of things.
Mark,
Thanks for your sermon on politics and the church. Although I'm sure you guys running NCC would disagree with me, I think it's a lot easier to be non-partisan in a political town. We Hill staffers deal with people from the opposite party all the time. We drink together, we eat together, those who are young enough even date each other. So there is a level of sophistication here that doesn't exist anywhere else in America.
The real challenge is for that church in Snellville, GA or Portland, OR. How do you create an environment that's apolitical (or maybe I should say kingdom centered) when people are actively segregating themselves.
I don't know the answer, I'm just throwing it out there.
The last point I'd make has been running through my mind for several weeks. If I was the "Prince of this World" and committed to thwarting God's will one thing I would definitely do in this country would be to set up the political parties to each represent half of the values of the Church.
So we shouldn't be surprised to see one compassionate party and one righteousness party. Instead we should keep our eye on the ball, being the whole kingdom of God here on earth. There's a bigger battle going on here and we're in it even if we don't want to admit it.
Thanks again for the series.
Prayers and blessings! : )
