What are you reading? I get asked that question all the time. Thought I'd share what's on my shelf right now. For the record, I've got about 75 books lying horizontal on my shelf which means I haven't read them yet. The vertical ones have been read.
Here are a few of the books:
Transformational Architecture by my friend, Ron Martoia. Ron is a great guy and a great thinker. Stretches me.
Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. I haven't cracked the book yet but if it's half as good as The Tipping Point or Blink it'll be great. Gladwell is one of those authors that I'm going to read anything they write.
Church Unique by Will Mancini. This book was recommended by Joe Dascenzo from Change Effect who is leading us through our rebranding process.

Thanks for the titles...Man, can I relate to the horizontal books. I try to get as many "vertical" as I can, but the "in-coming" keep my horizontal stack in perpetuity.
Good choices there Mark! "Unique Church" was one that I wanted to hate but couldn't. I slammed it shut and put it back on the shelf several times, but each time had to go back later and continue :)
I just finished Andy Stanley's "Creating Community" (outstanding) and today started "Joy at Work" by Dennis Bakke.
Mark, I've got about five or six 'on the go' right now, but strange you should ask . . I'm giving precedence to your latest - Wild Goose Chase - and am doing well sticking with it (halfway through). Well done!
Blessings in your labours and loves!
Mark,
It seems God is introducing me to you all over the place of late. Pastor Darren Plummer, Margaret Feinberg, Amazon.com, Pastor Mark Tanious, and Pastor Derrick Harkins--all reference you with respect. Thank you for your ministry. I'd love to connect: bob.kellemen@gmail.com. I'll be speaking at Pastor Derrick's on February 28, 09 on Heroes of the Black Church. I believe Pastor will be contacting you to invite NCC to participate. Oh, and another connection, I "sovereignly stumbled" upon your coffee house when visiting my son and daughter-in-law near Union Station (my son is a law student at Georgetown. In Christ's Grace, Bob (www.rpmministries.org)
Mark,
I'm just finishing up Outliers. Excellent read. It's a very unique way at looking at success. I think you'll like it. Oh yeah, Its also great to see you on triiibes.
Matt
Mark,
I just finished reading "The Last Lecture" and have started reading "Tribes".
Robbie
MB,
Man, I've got TONS of books to read and some more to FINISH! ;-)
I'm reading Transformissional Coaching by Steve Ogne and Tim Roehl... Reverse Mentoring by Earl Creps... RE-reading Becoming a Contagious Church (for my coaching network with Searcy)... and Sinner by Ted Dekker (gotta throw in a fiction every now and again... helps my storytelling).
p.s. Most definitely connect with Distinguished Professor Dr. Bob Kellemen! ;-)
I'm reading Crazy Love by Francis Chan...
I found Dr O Hallesby's Prayer on a give away table. Written 1931 but totally captivating. I am sloooooowly reading ' Strengthening the Soul of Your Leadership" Ruth Haley-Barton. Slow because it messes me up!
I'm reading the new Rob Bell book "God wants to save Christians."
Great choices...finished reading Shattered Dreams by Larry Crabb, totally made me rethink destiny, pain, and suffering through the story of Naomi. I am also getting ready to read Crossing Over by Paul Scanlon...its all about how he took his church which he has been at 30 some odd years from a totally traditional conservative dying European church and transformed it to a multi-campus, cutting edge, relevant church leading the way in Europe.
