Is there anything greater than a game winning field goal? Gets the adrenaline going! Huge win for the Vikings today. Ryan Longwell hit a 50-yarder with time expiring. I picked the Vikings to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl at the beginning of the season. And I know they are still a long shot. But they did take one small step/one giant leap by winning the NFC North. Amazing how many playoff spots are being decided on the final weekend of the season.

It's interesting reading someone's perspective that's outside of the state.
I hope your prediction holds true, and I hope Superman bought the P.J.s with a no fumble warantee.
Go Vikes!
woohoo go vikings! it was one ugly win today but as they say...a win is a win.
I think one of the greatest mysteries in life is how a guy with deep roots in Chicago loves the Vikings and the Pack and not the Bears. Weird. Very Weird. And then the Redskins get factored in there too. I'm confused just writing this :)
Carlo,
I was born in Minnesota and moved to Wisconsin before finally landing in Chicago. I went to my first Vikings game when I was five years-old. Still remember it. 4th quarter comeback to beat San Francisco with three touchdowns. Then when we moved to Wisconsin I fell in love with the Packers. By the time we moved to Chicago, I didn't have any football room left in my heart.
As for the Redskins. I live here :) So I cheer for them if they aren't playing the Vikings or Packers. But it's not the same kind of die-hard, loved them as a kid kind of support.
Ah, the complicated loyalties of a die hard football fan :)

I'm from Tampa so I cheer for the Bucs. I live in middle TN so I also support the Titans. 1 NFC 1 AFC. Nice and simple. How about a Titans vs Vikings Superbowl?
Amen to that, Mark. I'm a student at Drake in Des Moines, but a Minnesotan by blood. Love reading your blog, and seeing what God is doing at your church!
um...you picked the vikings???
Yup. Sort of a sentimental pick. But when the Packers dissed Favre I didn't think they would repeat as North champs. And I thought the Vikings had potential. I still don't think they've tapped their full potential. But they have beaten the top two seeds, Carolina and Giants. So who knows? I'm sticking with my pick :)
