We did an informational meeting tonight for our Kingstowne launch. So excited about launching our fifth location. And a rush of memories as I drove out there. Before moving into the city, we rented an apartment in Kingstowne so it's our old hood.
For about six months we commuted into the city, but the most memorable commute was my first weekend as pastor of NCC. The blizzard of '96 swept through DC and left record snowfalls. And we barely made it to church. There is a little hill in Kingstowne where I actually had to get out and push our car. We eventually made it, but we were the only ones who showed up. Not exactly a storybook beginning.
Pretty wild to be launching a location where we used to live. I always felt like the theater in Kingstowne was tailor made for a church. I just didn't know it'd be us!

I am sorry I missed the meeting. I live a stones throw from the theater. Hope there is another one.
