One of the highlights of my day was praying in the chapel balcony. That is where I "put in my time" during college. It has always been one of my burning bushes. That is where I learned to seek God. That is where I started dreaming about what God wanted me to do. That is where I prayed through the tough decisions. That is where I processed all the "college emotions."
Here's why I spent so much time in that chapel balcony. I was inspired by the story of Joshua. In Exodus 33 it says that Moses went outside the camp to the tent of meeting to seek God. And there is one little glimpse into why God chose Joshua to succeed Moses. And not just succeed Moses, but to succeed in general. A little play on words there.
Exodus 33:11: "Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent." I've always believed that God would use the most whoever spent the most time with Him.

that was inspiring about the chapel balcony! it reminds me of my college chapel times too and those spent seeking God in our old church balcony years ago. there is something so special and sweet about the place we meet with God. thanks for stirring good memories and inspiring me to make new ones every day.
(jaw dropped) Wow!
'I've always believed that God would use the most whoever spent the most time with Him.'
That's deep to me, Mark! Seriously. Thank you for this post, and that thought.
Hi, Pastor! :) Just dropping by your blog. I was really excited to read your previous blog entry -- it inspires me to want to pray more for you and the rest of the staff.
May God continue to anoint you, and may you continue to speak from the overflow of your heart. The more He blesses you, the more He blesses us, of course. :)
Oh... by "inspiring me to want to pray more," I meant I will make an honest attempt to be more faithful at it. hehe
wow. lot's of memories from that picture.
Mark, thank you SO much for that. God uses you in mighty ways.
God has really been showing me he wants to use me and that really spoke to my heart. My prayer has been that he would use me more and now I have a revelation of what he wants me to do in order to use me more. God bless!
