I know that twitter gets mixed reviews. Some people who see it as a very self-centered technology. But I've learned to love it for the opposite reason. I feel like it helps me stay connected to the people I care about. I follow about fifty people. It's a mix of family, staff, friends, and a handful of people I barely know. But I love the mini-updates on their lives. Love knowing where they're at and what they're doing.
I love Twitter.

I have a twitter, and you are completely right! It is awsome to see what your friends are up to.
I also love twitter. When I first heard about it, perhaps a year ago, I laughed at what seemed to be the triviality of it ("eating pancakes with kids"). Then, and I don't remember how, I started tweeting! My only problem is trying to explain it to others. Their immediate reaction is the same as mine was! How do you really explain it to a newby?
I am IN love with Twitter. :)
I am definitely a fan of twitter! Love it!
I've been doing twitter for about a month. I love it. I thought it would be the same as Facebook, but I've found that it connects better and allows me to communicate better too.
Twitter Rocks!
I'm more of a practical Twitterer. I am less inclined to want the 'social' side of networking but I love the information and what's working in ministry

E-Book that helps get the conversation started. :)
I love twitter it helps keep me balanced by texting to others.
I have the opposite philosophy. I follow everyone who follows me (except spammers) so they can direct message me if needed. It's amazing how many networking opportunities I have made just by making myself more available to others.
I'm curious how people decide which of the many social networks to join and maintain. I'm on Twitter, but find that I rarely update. However, I am on Facebook, and I am there all the time. I am also on Linked-in, but rarely there, etc. There's only so much time in the day, and for me, I eventually have to choose which social networking site I use. Thoughts?
I only recently got on Twitter -- I had been using Pownce in the past basically as an easy way to microblog (I could import the RSS onto my regular blog), but since there was hardly anyone else to network with that I knew there, I ended up not using it much. Once Pownce closed down, I bit the bullet and got on Twitter. Now I'm glad I did! The social features are pretty awesome!
Doc. K.: It would appear that Facebook and Twitter are the two powerhouses in the social media world. If you want the "face to face" connection of sharing pictures, videos, etc. then Facebook might be right for you.
If you're looking to network through micro-blogging, Twitter is the place to be.
I believe all churches, small businesses, entrepreneurs, etc. should develop a social media strategy and see it through to fruition. For me, I use both FB and Twitter and have a written plan to maximize both sites to the fullest.

love twitter too. couldn't help but notice that you seem to have fallen in love with Paul Blart. Is it really that good? My wife & I love Kevin James so it immediately caught our attention.
Keep feeding us info. We are in Okinawa, Japan with the military and glued to your updates from DC. We are praying for the President but also for Pastor Rick.
Blessing,
Hi Mark. Love twitter and used to be one of the "unknowns" that you followed. Did I bore you, bug you, or did you just simplify? =)
thanks for your great continued posts on the blog and your leadership.
