Chase the Yeti

Bookmark and Share

Jeremy Sexton in our media department decided to have a little bit of fun and put together a trailer for my next book. Too funny! If you need to blow off some steam on a Friday afternoon you'll enjoy Chase the Yeti.

Here's a shot of the Yeti in studio. I won't reveal his true identity, but he goes by a variety of nicknames: JJ Barracuta, Mr. Justice and El Farol to name a few.

Sometimes I think you guys have too much time on your hands, and then you do something like this, and I totally trust every resource in your able hands.

I always said Hassler had great hair ... I think he's letting it get a little out of control though if that is indeed him under all of it :-)

can you help those of us who are video illiterate? I noticed a blue screen...what's the difference between that and a grey screen? what would you recommend?

The reason you use a blue screen is because it is a color that doesn't show up in your subject (unless they're wearing blue). You want whatever your subject has on and however it's colored to be as different from the backdrop as possible when you plan to remove it.

A grey backdrop would only be used for when you want the finished product to have grey behind it, as removing the color grey would undoubtedly remove portions of the subject.

A green backdrop is often used for this as well. We went with blue for the Yeti because the Chewbacca costume had some lighter browns/yellows in it that I felt would be too close to the screen's color to get a decent key on the fur.

Hope this helps.
