Thanks for weighing in on the Mac vs. PC post. After much deliberation and a little blog persuasion, I'm going to take a bite of the Apple. Gonna get a MacBook Pro. I know it'll take a little time to transition, but I'm figuring a few days of adjusting to a new system will pay off.
By the way, thanks to the Willowcreek Association for the discount. Gotta love that. It can't get here quick enough. My PC is crashing like crazy!

Macs are so much more intuitive - you'll catch on in no time!
Mark,
I can't believe you didn't step out and kill the PC lion in a pit on a snowy day a long time ago so that you could go and chase the Macintosh wild goose...
The only thing I do not like about my Mac is the pain you feel when the Mac salesperson puts that microchip into your forehead (or the back of your left hand) right after you buy your first one. Other than that they're great.
You'll never go back, trust me.
Mac for sure, my friend! I transitioned over in May of 08...I can't believe I didn't do it sooner!
Good choice! I've wanted a mac for years...just too expensive for now.
As a new missionary my BGMC director in my state bought me a MacBook Pro!! How much better would the past 8 years of youth ministry been with a mac! Website (http://www.hope4cambodia.com) and brochures and newsletters!!
best feature: DRAG AND DROP!!!
Good choice Mark.
This page will be your friend at the beginning. You'll pick it up pretty quick though, you'll be surprised.

Biggest things that confuse people (and a couple of fun tips):
1.) Installing programs - You click a .pkg file and it "mounts" a disc. After the install to your Applications folder, you must "eject" the disc that was mounted, or else it remains on your desktop.
2.) Downloads - Anything you download, from iChat, Mail, or Safari/Firefox will go straight to a folder called: "Downloads". You'll have a short cut to your downloads folder in your doc on the right near the trash can. Once files fall in here, take them to their destination (documents, music, etc.)
3.) i-Tunes music - If you download a music CD from somewhere on the net, or if someone sends you music via iChat or something, the music will be in your Downloads folder. You must drag it into iTunes to add it to your library. After doing this, delete the content that you downloaded, or else you'll have two copies on your hard drive. When you add music to iTunes, it copies/converts it, and places it in your iTunes music folder.
4.) System Preferences - This is like "Control Panel" on a a PC.
5.) Hot Corners - These will be your best friend. Go here to read about them. http://www.ehow.com/video_4445858_understanding-hot-corners-mac.html
6.) Extra Ram - Ever want to bump your ram up from 2 GB to 4GB... it's super cheap and easy if you go to this site: http://crucial.com/
That should get you started. Like I said, you'll pick it up quick, and if not, I'm sure you'll have plenty of people willing to help you out!
You're gonna love it.
I made the switch in 2006. I turn my mac on, use it, turn it off. It's a beautiful thing!
Get an iPhone to go with it and you'll absolutely flip! It's ridiculous what it can do...
Glad you had the debate as I'm deciding myself.
Just be sure to have a grief counselor standing by. You know, for the moment when you bang your head against the wall in frustration, muttering "If only I had switched sooner..."
The Apple is good bro. Delicious I must say.
I converted last summer and haven't looked back!

Mark:
Congrats on your new MacBook Pro! I love mine and I know you will love yours too.
Here's Mac vs. PC The Movie inspired by Transformers. Just visualize your PC getting its keyboard cleaned - it might make you feel even better...

Mark, you mentioned "thanks for Willow Creek Association for the discount." What do you mean? Do they have something set up with Mac? I'm also a member and also need a new computer, so...
Fatz,
Yeah! Our media guys told me we get a discount on Mac through WCA. Check it out. I'm guessing you could call them or check out their site.
Gotta love a discount :)
Mark
