Out of Nowhere

Out of Nowhere.

That is the thought that dropped into my mind yesterday as I was reading the story about the Israelites complaining in the wilderness. Which one right? In this instance, they are complaining about not having meat to eat.

Moses is at the end of himself. He says, "I've seen enough. I've heard enough." He had no answers, no reserves, no plan.

Ever been there?

God says He is going to give them meat, but this is one of those miracles that Moses cannot even imagine. He says, "So where's it coming from? Even if all the flocks and herds were butchered, would that be enough? Even if all the fish in the sea were caught, would that be enough?"

Moses has no idea how this is going to happen.

Ever been there?

But here is what I love about Moses. Even when he was at the end of himself. Even when he couldn't imagine how this could happen. It says, "So Moses went out and told the people what God had said." That took guts! Even when he had a hard time believing it himself, he went out on a faith limb.

So what did God do?

This is one of my favorite answers to prayer because it is so random. God answers out of nowhere.

"A wind set in motion by God swept quails in from the sea. They piled to a depth of three feet in the camp and as far out as a day's walk in every direction."

Out of nowhere!

this is just what my husband and I are believing God for. An answer to our fervent, specific prayer...out of nowhere. Thank you for this

Thanks for the reminder. My husband and I have a whole bunch of "out of nowhere" prayers right now, and I'm trying not to become one of the grumblers just because I can't see how God will work things out!

it's the out of nowhere that God begins to
build our faith to start expecting the evident

Thanks Mark. To use an overused Christianism, I'm "going through a season" in my life where I really needed to be reminded of God's ability, and desire, to meet me at the point of my greatest need in His way and in His time. Blessings.

Its when that gentle breeze blows ... "Out of Nowhere" that the spirit of God is moving... and as we open the doors and windows of our heart... His gentle wind... from "Out of Nowhere" lifts our spirit... and blows hope. Gently glides and guides us through the hard places. Out of Nowhere our God answers the prayers of our heart.

One of my favorite quotes is something I heard Bethany's campus pastor Paul Bruton say - "Ours is the God who comes out of nowhere and outrages tidy minds."

We're a church plant (6 months old). The recession has hit us hard and we are literally surviving week-to-week. All the outside support has dried up and that's pretty much what I've been asking God. Then last week, "out of nowhere", someone sent us a check for $2,000!

I had one of those rough marital days...so your evotional was right on...as I was about to blog on your thoughts, I typed NOWHERE, and as I do...examined the word and reflected on it...and it became NOW HERE. same word with a space or not just depends on your perspective and how your eyes focus on the word...NOWHERE...So today I find myself NOWHERE in a marriage @ the end of my rope and hanging out of obedient to an audience of one/won! And even through the tears. He is there and here and NOWHERE.
thanks, for the wisdom
