when you least feel like it

Bookmark and Share

How do I describe today?

It wasn't a bad day per se. But it was one of those days where I felt like I was in a funk. I ran out of parental patience. And if I'm being honest, I was a little irritable. It's not like I kicked the dog or anything, but I felt like it after he pooped in the house.

Anywho.

I say that to say this: we did our weekly family devotional at the end of the day and it was so gratifying. There is something powerful about doing what you know you should do even when you don't feel like doing it. God can really meet you in those moments. It's not like revival broke out or anything. But some of the greatest victories we win over the enemy are simply doing the right thing when we least feel like it.

AMEN! We had one of those nights, too! When we turned off the TV and stopped to deal with the issues at hand - God totally showed up! It was awesome! Exhausting...but, awesome!

I had a similar night. Yesterday was one of those days where I felt disrespected and taken advantage of. It wasn't until I started studying Hosea that things began to improve. God met me in that time and I was greatly blessed by it.

i've been there, bro. thanks for sharing. And if there is anything we P's need to teach our PK's it's authenticity. They see us in all our funks. So if we go around pretending to our churches that we never funk, our kids will grow up thinking something stinks.

I always make sure i talk to my kids after i've been in a funk so they know that i don't want to live like that But Jesus is still working on me.

And i always make sure my congregation hears the same sermon.

I've enjoyed "getting to know" you on Twitter and through the blogs. Thanks for sharing your life.

Just like intuition does not come to an unprepared mind, I believe the Spirit does not come to an unprepared heart.
