Lion Chasers Manifesto

Bookmark and Share

It's been a long time since I've posted the Lion Chasers Manifesto, but I was inspired by a student at Northwest University who gave me a pair of custom-designed shoes with the manifesto written on them. Pretty cool. She said her shoes have sparked lots of comments and questions. Here's the manifesto:

Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death. Grab life by the mane. Set God-sized goals. Pursue God-ordained passions. Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention. Keep asking questions. Keep making mistakes. Keep seeking God. Stop pointing out problems and become part of the solution. Stop repeating the past and start creating the future. Stop playing it safe and start taking risks. Accumulate experiences. Consider the lilies. Enjoy the journey. Find every excuse you can to celebrate everything you can. Live like today is the first day and last day of your life. Don't let what's wrong with you keep you from worshipping what's right with God. Burn sinful bridges. Blaze new trails. Criticize by creating. Worry less about what people think and more about what God thinks. Don't try to be who you're not. Be yourself. Laugh at yourself. Quit holding out. Quit holding back. Quit running away.

Chase the lion.

Just posted a blog entry last week about the Manifesto.... it had great impact on a lot of men about two years ago while climbing some 14,000 foot peaks and still does to this day. Amazing stuff Mark!

Hey Mark,
Know "In a Pit with a Lion..." continues to challenge people. We have developed a discipleship class with your book and videos...so far we've had two groups walk through the seven week series. About 35 people so far...Awesome stuff...really challenging people to Chase after Lions.
Thanks for how you serve!

Mark, I sent a copy of your book to a friend the other day. I didn't know it but she had been struggling with a potential job opportunity in DC and not wnating to leave NY. Needless to say this hit the spot.

Wild Goose Chase so good. My husband and I read it as we travel on a mission trip to Mexico. It had so many applications to where we are at. We needed a name for our ministry and have decided to call it 'Wild Goose Ministries'. It was a great teaching. I love when God puts things like a book in your hand at the right time. I recommend it all the time to people who come in the Christian bookshop where I work.(my retirement job)-- We loved the part in the book where you wrote that you are never to old to be what God intended you to be. Thanks to Abba Father for your book.

I'm reading your Lion book now. I'm taking my time - partly because I want to make sure I'm really "getting it," and partly because I'm deep-down afraid of how it's going to change my life.

Thank you.
