I love the Bible

Bookmark and Share

If someone asked me: what is the BEST DECISION you've made this year? It's an easy answer. The decision to read through a one-year Bible.

Honestly, I'm falling in love with the Bible all over again. It's the most inspirational book ever written because it was inspired by God himself. It's the best sin deterrent I know of. And it's the way you carry on a daily conversation with God. I'm not sure who said this first but it's so true: when you close the Bible God closes His mouth and when you open the Bible God opens His mouth.

Nuff said.

Which one are you using? I've been thinking of buying a one year Bible to try out that format. Any advice for us?

I am reading "The Daily Message." I love The Message version but hadn't read through the entire Bible in that version. Might go KJV next year.

I've really enjoyed the Message's Solo version as well. Reading through the entire Bible has really made me fall in love with the OT and see how beautifully the whole Bible weaves together. Awesome, awesome and awesome!

Love "The Daily Message"...Ed and I both read from it while he was in Iraq - that way we knew we were studying the same scripture when we were doing our devotions half a world apart. I highly recommend this for military couples...

Amen, and amen! My church is doing the Bible in 90 Days program this summer. Reading through the entire Bible in ~12-page segments each day. (http://www.biblein90days.com/)

I'm pretty jazzed about this. The act of reading through the Bible in such a way that the whole story – all the interconnected details of God’s amazing story of redemption – is clear and read in a time frame where I can appreciate it all the more.

AMEN!
