Like most pastors, I don't get away on the weekend very often. In fact, I have six weekends per year for speaking engagements and vacations. For what it's worth, I used to speak about 48 weekends per year so I'm grateful for six weekends! In case you care, I now speak about 36 weekends per year. Grateful for an amazing teaching team that takes a ton of pressure off of me. Anywho.
I'm speaking at a church in the area this weekend, Salem Fields Community Church in Fredericksburg, VA. I'll speak at their Saturday night and Sunday morning services. Then our family is going to visit Lake Anna for the first time. Been talking about it for years. Look forward to doing a little exploration. Might even rent a Pontoon Boat and cruise the lake.
Anybody been to Lake Anna? Things to do? Sights to see?

We did our first baptism service there last year
Good ol' Fredericksburg! That's where I live. Well, downtown Fredericksburg is always nice, there are lots of little shops and unique restaurants. Lake Anna is nice and peaceful, a great place to go jet skiing!
Another awesome church for future reference is Lifepoint Community Church (http://www.visitlifepoint.org). They are meeting in a high school currently and God is doing AMAZING things there, they are growing like crazy! Very outreach driven and the majority of their congregation are coming to know Christ for the first time there. These two churches are definitely reaching the city of Fredericksburg in new and creative ways...it is great to see this as a future church planter!
Have a great weekend in the burg!
I just started Wild Goose Chase and I LOVE IT! It was just what I needed!!!!!!!!! I see you twittered about angels yawning. Hehehe...that's the only chapter I've read so far, but wow! I first heard about you in a publication -- In Touch magazine or Focus on the Family. (Those are the only 2 like that that I get.) I read an excerpt of your Chase the Lion book and bought the book. WONDERFUL! So now I'm reading about the Wild Goose and I'm amazed how God used just the first few pages to speak to me! I even blogged about the amazing timing. :-)

Lake Anna is where I learned to ski. I've been skiing ever since! There's so much to do there!
I've started to read Wild Goose Chase and had to laugh ~ it's what my dad used to call me when I was younger. I have found this normal sized book to be anything but normal on the inside. How you packed so much in there is beyond me ~ I'm glad you did. I can only read a bit at a time because this book could not have come at a better time for me. Something's not right and maybe I will see what that is by the end of the book. I've let a lot go since I walked through the doors at Salem Fields ~ a LOT go! Apparently, there's still something there.... Thank you for taking the time to come down and give the message. You created quite the buzz....
