Finally got the final cover design for my next book, Primal. Gotta finish edits this week. Then line edits. Then the press. Then bookshelves. I have to keep visualizing this book to gut it out. Editing is never easy!
I know exactly how to pray for you, friend. Writing is like birthing an elephant. Months and months of gestation and then the actual delivery process takes FOREVER!
I bet you were done with this book a couple of months ago but it wasn't done with you yet!
I recently posted the following to our church’s bible reading facebook page. “Wow, God's word is alive and powerful. Something in yesterday's Bible reading caught my eye- in II Samuel I came upon the verse about this guy, one of David's thirty mighty men who, despite snow and slippery ground, caught a lion and killed it. This caught my eye because I never picture snow in the Holy Land so I mentioned it to John in passing. He was Like, "yeah, that's interesting.. Soooooo, today I'm checking our e-mails and I see an e-mail from an acquaintance who is following God's call into the ministry. He invited us to check out his blog and as I was looking through his posts for LAST YEAR I see that title of a book that he says changed his life. The title- In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day!!! Is that a coincidence or what!? Needless to say I am finding that book today and well as Wild Goose Chase by the same author- Mark Batterson. Maybe God is sending my on a treasure hunt. The real treasure has already been found though- HIS WORD. Thank you Lord.” Since then I have read Id the True You, In a Pit, and have begun Wild Goose Chase. I just read the part where you say that reading this book may be a divine appointment waiting to happen. I so believe that! Your books have been just what I needed at just the right time in my life. I have also ordered three copies of each to give to friends- trying to start a revolution! Thank you for sharing your heart! Cant wait for your next book!!
Mark, I have a question that does not relate to this post at all. Recently you blogged about your new tattoo? I am 26 and a youth pastor in the midwest. Most people in my church believe tattoos to be bad (of the devil really) and I know that many different people have many different beliefs? What led you to your decision and what do you think about the "sinfulness" of it? In fact, if you could blog about it and get comments I would love to read and enter into the discussion.
I actually don't have a tattoo, but I'm not opposed to it. Unless it's my kids, of course :) I'm just kidding! If it's done for the right reasons I think it can have tremendous spiritual significance. But more often than not it's a regret down the road because it was done for the wrong reasons or at the wrong time. I think a person ought to wait until well after their youthful years.
I can hardly wait, when do U think it will be realeased and can U email me to let me know, when, how and where I can purchase, your biggest fan...besides God, Dawn Thorpe dcthorpe@gmail or dcthorpe twitter or dcthorpe777@comcast.net 504 Clinch Ct Woodstock, Ga 30188 God Bless U and yours!

My two cents,

Thanks Mark, I appreciate it.
