Every pitcher needs a good curve ball. If you throw a fast ball every time, no matter how fast it is, the hitters will eventually catch up to it. You've got to keep the batter off balance. In a similar sense, good leaders have a good curve ball. They bring the heat, but they know how to mix it up too. Otherwise people become creatures of habit, you lose all imagination, and fall into a empty rituals.
We threw a curve ball yesterday. We mixed up our order of service by mixing worship with a video message. One of the things I love about NCC is that we're never satisfied with the way we're doing church. We're going to keep mixing it up and trying new things. Why? Because everything is an experiment.
By the way, I had nothing to do with it. I didn't even know about it until I heard about the video shoot. So proud of our team for going the extra mile.
Check it out.

that's something we strive to do in our ministry, we hate getting into a rut!
