Lessons from the Magic Kingdom

Bookmark and Share

Just got back from a week at Disney with the family. I was on vacation but my brain is always in learning mode. So I thought I'd share a few observations over the next few days. I love the Kingdom of God. Nothing like it under heaven or on earth. But there might be a few things we can learn from the Magic Kingdom.

Here's Disney Lesson #1: the difference between good and great is often found in the smallest details. I guess that's another way of saying: 1% details make a 99% difference. The thing that amazes me about Disney is their eye for detail. From the oil-stained and potholed streets of NY at Hollywood Studios to the weather-beaten walls in the Saharan section of Animal Kingdom to all of the countries represented at EPCOT, the details are amazing! There is intentionality in every detail. Honestly, I think that is a reflection of the Creator. The exotic fish we saw at the Finding Nemo ride are evidence of it. God is into details.

Can I offer this simple reminder: the Devil ISN'T in the details. God is. And we better pay attention to the details. How? By doing little things like they are big things. And by believing that excellence honors God. Even in the smallest details.

Love your post! I am an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner so I totally understand all about planning and the details of planning! I think God is definitely in the details and nowhere is that more apparent than at Disney. Disney goes above and beyond our expectations. It reminds me to go above and beyond in my relationships! It's hard to believe that one day Disney will not be standing--all buildings are temporary-aren't they? But people last forever and that is where I am reminded to reach out and give others a helping hand--even if it is just helping plan a Disney vacation LOL!

Your posts are always so inspiring to me and I'm sure others. Thanks for taking time to write. You are such a blessing. Glad you enjoyed your vacation time in FL. with your family. Looking at nature I always am amazed at all the details. Magnify the inside of a flower. Beautiful. There is a list that goes on and on. God has put eternity in our hearts. I was just remined of the snowflakes again from Wild Goose Chase. What details in them!!!! Reading for the 3rd time. I decided it's going to be an annual read for me. Waiting for your new one. Living my life to win souls 4 Christ.

You said it Bro. Mark. God is very much into details. We all need to pay attention to the smallest of details. We never know when we will be passing up our greatest blessing by passing on doing something because it was of little importance.

Amazing how the place has that effect on a person. I made similar comments on my blog:
