Our team spent about six hours walking around Berlin today. Wish I had some pictures to post, but my camera is acting up. Gonna have to do surgery on it when I get home.
Our team is here doing reconnaissance. Trying to discern if God might be calling us to Berlin in some capacity. Honestly, we have more questions than answers. But that's why we're here. Best way to get a feel for a city is to get on the ground.
We met with ministry leaders and business leaders today. And we visited quite few cafes. There are definitely lots of cultural differences. Berliners seem to avoid eye contact, for example. But I love the vibe of Berlin. Love the food too. Ate a doner. Anybody ever have one? My new favorite food. They shave slices of meat off a huge slab. Like a gyros but better! Hmmmm good.

You've never had doner before... you guys don't have them in the States? That's a shame... it's a (semi!) regular feature in my life here!
Hitler's compulsion toward world domination could have been staved off - if only he'd had a doner. It's like heaven sliced off a stick!
welcome to berlin.
hope you're having a great time here!
Mark,
it was awesome spending some time with you and team. I was blessed just to hear the stories of the other church planters.
You can get a Doner in Leesburg, VA here is a link to the place.

It was great having you here in Berlin. This city is a Lion and a half. We can use all the reinforcements we can get! I pray God will speak clearly to your hearts about how to chase this Lion. We would love to team up with you in any way that fits to impact Berlin with God's amazing love and Grace! Oh, and I can't wait to read more of your stuff! Your new Berlin friend, Jim

Ah doner fever. My buddy who worked with Berlin students for 3 years is actually world famous (i.e. people all over the world, just not all that many of them) for a rap he wrote about doners.
listening to the podcast where you extol doners. i often ate the chicken version in france. they're popular in europe, but they're originally turkish.
