Had a meeting last night with some NCC leaders. Our Discipleship pastor, Heather Zempel, is leading something called Operation Ka-Boom.
We love our free market small group system. But we've outgrown some of our structures as our groups have multiplied. So we're basically blowing up our structure and starting over from scratch. I think it's important to put everything on the table every once in a while. Make sure you don't have any sacred cows. Make sure your form follows function. So we're trying to rethink and reinvent everything from training to caring to recruiting leaders.
Is there anything you need to Ka-Boom?

Mark - Tommy Sparger from North Point Church - when we started North Point we used the "free market system". It worked great at first, but after a couple of years we did the "Ka-Boom" thing to it and started over. The Small Group ministry (as well as everything else) is always in a constant state of evolution.
Really looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with.
You or Heather should write a book called Ka-Boom!!! I LOVE NCC.
I LOVE the way there are no sacred cows at NCC! One of my favorite things...maybe you should write a book called "No Sacred Cows" too! And distribute it WIDELY! :)
