One of my prayers for every book I write is that people would experience a defining moment on one of the pages. I pray that one page or one paragraph would change their life forever. I recently got an email from someone who said page 150 of Wild Goose Chase changed their life. He felt like the Holy Spirit told him to plant a church in London while he was reading that particular page.

As I'm reviewing the final typeset version of Primal, I'm praying different things for different pages. For example, I'm believing that this book will actually result in some people crossing the line and following Christ. More specifically, I believe it'll happen on page 18 for some. For others, I'm believing it'll be on page 68.

Don't mistake what he said Mark, the Holy Spirit told him something. So, it isn't so much about what you have written, as when the Spirit works. Now, that's not to discourage from producing good work that will encourage people to listen . . . I'm just saying you can't predict how The Wild Goose will use your book. I'm praying people are convicted and changed by the Table of Contents for your book, just so you might see the power of God at work.

Mark is right. As I read Wild Goose Chase I came to page 13 where mark, "I want you to know that before you decided to read this book I started praying for you I prayed that Wild Goose Chase would get into the right hands at the right time....and I believe one chapter one sentence can change the trajectory of your life"
When I read that I had to lay the book aside. My eyes were already blurred from crying and I needed to pause and give thanks to God. You can NEVER know what I was dealing with at that time. The book was a surprise gift and certainly fell into the right hands at the right time. This was a direct answer of Marks prayer for me. Chapter Two: Coming out of the cage of responsibility was the chapter God had Mark write for me. Again Mark will never know what his being obedient to God and the leading of the Spirit has accomplished thousands of miles away. The domino effect is amazing.I honestly believe that when you are in tune to the spirit he will give you insight to his secrets and mysteries. Mark is an obedient servant and God is using his words to do accomplish his work. I can not wait for Primal especially pages 18 and 68!!

Josh,

That was the point of my post :) My prayer for each book is that it gets into the right hands at the right time. Amazing the way God answers that prayer over and over again.

I've had enough Holy Spirit surprises to know I can't predict what sermon or what page will make an eternal difference. I'm not capable. But He is!

Mark -

Your books have had an impact on my family and my friends. I think Goose and Lion helped nudge us in a different ways. My wife is leaving for Uganda in a few weeks on a 2-week, short-term missions trip. I am starting a Christian apparel side business. And two friends of mine filed for a 503(c) to start a non-profit organization to help refugees here in Iowa.

Thanks for allowing the Holy Spirit to pour through you on to those pages and into our hearts.

Peace,
Erik
