The First Shipment

Bookmark and Share

We're sending out 1000+ advance copies today to lead pastors, discipleship pastors, and campus pastors. When everything is said and done, between the books I'm personally giving away and the books my publisher is giving away, we'll give away 5000+ copies of Primal: A Quest for the Lost Soul of Christianity.

When In a Pit with a Lion on a Snowy Day released I think we gave away 250 copies. So we've seriously upped the ante. Giving away books has become part of my book philosophy. Obviously, content is king. If your book isn't a good read, it doesn't matter how many books you give away. It won't sell. But you can write a great book and never sell more than 5000 copies like 97% of books that are published simply because you never get a groundswell of readers. One way to get a groundswell is a book giveaway.

Want to sell more books? Give away more books. If you have a subtraction mentality, a book given is a book NOT sold. If you have a multiplication mentality, and really believe in the book, a book given multiplies into more books sold.

If you give for the right reasons, to simply bless others, God uses it and blesses it. Whether it's giving cash or giving a book or giving your time. Giving is a way of relinquishing control. You put responsibility for the results into the hands of God.

The moment we mail the books, I feel like Primal is out of my hands and in the hands of God.

Congrats! Don't think I got on the list for the pastor's pre-release, but I'm looking forward to seeing it in stores to get my copy.

Lord bless you, man! It's awesome seeing what God's doing through you guys over there at NCC.

I am fortunate to be one of your blog reviewers. I look forward to it. I read your previous two books and although In a Pit is a sentimental favorite for you I got the most out of the Wild Goose Chase. But I loved both and look forward to the 3rd.

Bethany,

Sure would love to come back to North Central again. I was born in Minneapolis!

I loved your first two books. I too believe in the philosophy of giving ... TO BLESS OTHERS.

I put my first book in ebook format so I could give away thousands of copies. Didn't have the money to buy the books, but if there is a will ... God will find a way.

I was really having a struggle inside when I read ... In a Pit ... and the encouragement that book brought me was from God. Thank you for being His vessel!

Can't wait to read Primal!
