Planning Retreat

Bookmark and Share

Every year our team does two staff retreats. We do a planning retreat in the fall. And we do a play & pray retreat in the summer. The play & pray is a ton of fun. The planning retreat is a ton of work. But I love both of them.

So this week we head out on our annual planning retreat. We'll spend a couple days in the inner harbor in Baltimore. Love hanging at my favorite bookstore--the Barnes & Noble that used to be the old power plant. Love hitting a few of my favorite restaurants--Cheesecake Factory and ESPN Zone. But most of all I love dreaming with our team. They are the same people I'd want to hang out with even if we didn't work together!

Hey, that's where we go for our staff retreat too. We love it. Hope your time is productive and that you all hear God clearly.

I would love to see what your agenda looks like. Any chance that you could post that?

I will be praying that the Lord provides a clear vision! I know what you do has certainly affected my life (since I heard Heather speak in September!).

Welcome to Baltimore. It sounds like John Maxwell is in town too. Maybe you can get him to drop by :)

Here's the short version. We schedule in some "personal planning time" in the AM. We have meetings as departments--media, admin, campus pastors, discipleship, etc. And we do some group time together. The focus is strategizing for next year by identifying priorities.

We definitely feel "overwhelmed" at this retreat. So much to do. So many accumulated things to discuss. But it's so healthy and helpful.

Mark
