I continued our ritual series this weekend talking about altars. Here's a link to the webcast. I give a little virtual tour of my office that I thought blog readers might enjoy. It's about seven minutes into the message.
I love the use of Gregorian chant at the beginning of the video. To me there is nothing more distinctively Christian than chant. It really is the only musical form that hasn't either been corrupted by the world (such as hymns) or borrowed from the world (such a pretty much all types of CCM). I'm curious, do you use chant in worship at your church? If so, in what context? Do you ever chant parts of the liturgy?
OH MY GOSH - I LOVE YOUR LIBRARY!!!! It reminds me of MINE! Books all over - right side up and side ways! Not to mention everything you shared about your altar. I think I need to create one for my "porch". That's my favorite place to meet with God. It is mostly windows and sits next to a tall wall of bushes. So I can see His creation, listen to a CD (sounds of the ocean) and spend time with Him.
I listen to your sermons often! I download them (as well as Francis Chan, Robert Morris, Andy Stanley, etc.) and listen while I check email at home. I see it as BEING blessed while blessing others (thought notes of encouragement).
