Here are a few shots from my pathetic phone camera. They don't do it justice! Here's a street view and my office view. You can barely see Union Station through the snow and it's half a block away!
Amazing pictures, Mark. Here in Texas we had a couple of inches of snow before Christmas and that was overwhelming to a lot of people. Get the toys out and have some fun in it!
You have the snowy day, now all you need is a pit and a lion!
Mark, normally I like what you post, but I can't understand the logic on this NOT CANCELING COME HELL OR HIGH WATER attitude. Encourage your people to BE the church... go out and help a neighbor. More good will come of that then the faithful gathering for worship.
We want to be open for the locals who can walk it. Why not? We had awesome "snow services" in December when we had the big storm. At the same time, we're posting webcast early as an option. And hopefully people are helping neighbors before and after service too :) In fact, the people who walk to Ebenezers will have plenty of opportunities to help others just by coming. I helped get a truck unstuck on my way to Ebz today.
It's the best of all worlds. God has divine appointments waiting to happen both in our services and outside our services...
we have the same struggle here in Richmond and reached the same both/and conclusion. A service for those who feel they can safely come out and an online experience for others. Great response Mark I appreciate the content and the tone.
I feel so good that there are blue skies and bright sun in WY right now! OK - its still cold (20 something) but it IS above zero! Keep looking up - its a beautiful sight!

Amazing storm that stretches from Washington DC to Kansas City. Seems like that's a metaphor for a great sermon!

Upstate NY is sunny and beautiful today. Cold but sunny. Love the pics though, it reminds me of here.
Martin,
I approach it with a both/and mindset.
